PENELITIAN DINAMIKA PESISIR MUARA SUNGAI COMAL DAN SEKITARNYA, JAWA TENGAH, DITUNJANG OLEH PENAFSIRAN DATA FOTO UDARA DAN CITRA SATELIT
Abstract
Perubahan garis pantai di kawasan pesisir Kabupaten Tegal, Pemalang dan Pekalongan disebabkan oleh aktifitas sungai-sungai yang bermuara di pantai utara Pulau Jawa. Sungai-sungai tersebut mengangkut material sedimen yang disebarkan di Laut Jawa dan diendapkan kembali di sepanjang garis pantai oleh aktivitas gelombang laut mengakibatkan kawasan pesisir utara Pulau Jawa mengalami akresi. Iklim turut berperan dalam mempengaruhi perubahan garis pantai tersebut, khususnya pada musim hujan dimana air sungai akan meluap dan membanjiri kawasan pesisir dan mengendapkan material sedimen yang berlebihan.
Citra Landsat 7 ETM+ hasil rekaman tahun 2002 menunjukan bentukan delta muara sungai Comal yang mengalami perubahan membentuk “cuspateâ€. Perubahan garis pantai di mulut muara diperkirakan karena arah muara sungai Comal selalu berpindah-pindah seirama dengan jumlah pasokan air sungai dan material sedimen terangkut, iklim serta aktivitas gelombang dan arus yang bergerak saat itu.
Kata kunci : garis pantai, iklim, banjir, akresi dan cuspate.
Coastline changes in Kabupaten Tegal, Pemalang and Pekalongan are caused by the rivers activity which spread out to the Java Sea. The sediment materials have been transported and distributed to the Java-sea and redeposited along the coastline by wave activities. Consequently, the coastline has been rapidly accreted by sedimentary processes. Closely climatic supported coastline changes during the rainy season, flooding covered river mouth area and deposited all sediment materials.
Landsat 7ETM+ Satellite imageries recorded in 2002; delta form in river mouth of Comal River has been changed into cuspate delta form. The changes of delta configuration especially in the river mouth area have been interpreted by river water supply, sediment materials, climatic, wave and current activities.
