POLA REGIONAL UNSUR UTAMA DAN MINERALOGI PERAIRAN UTARA JAWA TIMUR
Abstract
Berdasarkan analisis megaskopik, jenis sedimen permukaan di daerah ini sebagian besar tersusun oleh sedimen berbutir halus berukuran lempung – lanau. Berdasarkan analisa 6 contoh sedimen dasar laut dengan menggunakan metode AAS, berhasil diidentifikasi jenis dan kandungan unsur utamanya dimana unsur-unsur tersebut memperlihatkan beberapa pola, seperti: (1) Pola linier negatif untuk CaO terhadap SiO2 (2) pola linier positif untuk K2O terhadap. SiO2 dan Al2O3 vs. SiO2 serta (3) Pola linier yang rata/datar, seperti telihat pada unsur Na2O, MgO dan Fe2O3 terhadap SiO2 . Semua ini menjelaskan tipe batuan asal di daratnya, seperti batugampingan yang tercerminkan oleh kandungan CaO dan MgO yang tinggi selain memperlihatkan pula bahwa sedimen dasar laut di lokasi telitian bersifat lempungan yang dicerminkan oleh kandungan Al2O3 (yang merupakan senyawa penyusun lempung) yang tinggi.

Based on megascopic analysizes, the sea floor surface sediment types on this area consist of fine grain sediment (from clay to silt). Atomic Absorption Spectometry (AAS) method was carried out to the 6 sea floor sediment samples that succeed to identified the different types and major element contents such as: (1) negative linier pattern for CaO to SiO2; (2) positive linier pattern for K2O to SiO2 and Al2O3 to SiO2; and (3) flat linier pattern is showed by Na2O, MgO and Fe2O3 to SiO2 .
All these patterns are influenced by their source rocks on land, such as calcareous rocks have more contents of CaO and MgO where Al2O3 contents are closed to clay minerals.
